Through different materials and techniques—fabric, wood, canvas—emerges the form of an existence that constantly wavers and transforms.
Each work quietly visualizes a sensation that exists just before completion or definition.

Using the traditional dyeing technique of cylinder-dyeing, these works create a three-dimensional effect and unique texture by stuffing cotton into vividly dyed fabric and stitching the outline with a sewing machine.

【Work Introduction】
The Mushroom Bird series fuses the warmth of camphor wood with the texture of mineral pigments to create fantastical forms. The design, overlaying bird motifs onto mushroom caps, symbolizes the ambiguity of evolution and the metamorphosis of living things, combining fairy-tale playfulness with philosophical depth. Employing the “single-block carving” technique from the late Nara to early Heian periods, each Mushroom Bird captures a unique personality. The use of different woods gives each piece its own distinct texture and aroma.

In April 2023, he held his solo exhibition “YOYOKAIJU” at a local gallery after a six-year hiatus, resuming his activities as a painter. He champions the unique neologism “Deloripop,” blending ‘Delori’ (a term coined by artist Ryusei Kishida) with “pop culture” elements from films, manga, and anime, pursuing an originality unattainable through either alone.

Three artists depict the aura of that nameless time between night and morning. Through distinct approaches—figures, symbols, abstraction—they conjure a single landscape imbued with the air of the pre-dawn hour.

Contemporary artist and curator.
Creates works by printing digitally produced pieces onto paper, then adding layers with pastels, crayons, acrylics, and other media. While the depicted figures appear smiling, they seem to harbor an underlying sadness or violence. The artist suggests this may stem from the fact that, when unraveling these figures from his own context, they all connect to ghosts.

Late 2000s
Debuted in the art world as a founding member of “Post-Poppers,” the precursor to Chaos Lounge. However, withdrew early on. Subsequently vanished from the scene for about a decade.
Then, in 2020. With the onset of the pandemic, returned to the art world with the support of art collector Motoha Iijima.
In 2021, using the future of the character art context he undertook and new proposals as an entry point, he planned the group exhibition “Sleepover Party” to infiltrate Japanese contemporary art and broadly excavate refreshing new ground. In 2024, he conceived and operated its sequel project, “Dance Party.”

Paintings are not living things; they don’t speak, have no body temperature, and no blood flows through them. Yet they possess color, brushwork, composition, motifs, and prayers poured into them.
I create while contemplating that those who see them might receive or feel something from the colors, the motifs, the depicted characters—and that this might connect to living tomorrow, the next second.
