Solo Exhibition “I Can See Your Face Better at Night”
Artist Statement
I always paint pictures based on a story. I have painted scenes from that story, or created transformed panels from a collection of scenes, but for this solo exhibition, I have decided to subdivide the story of my own characters into smaller pieces. Until then, I have mainly focused on the main character, Aleyshka, the young woman who is the main character. Over the next few years, I began to understand a little more about the people around her, and I decided to reflect this in the production.

When you look at social networking sites, there are so many languages spoken in so many directions. They are so vividly emotional that it is easy to become weary of them. But angry and sad people are important to form the emotional core of my characters and can be made lovable by deforming them. I try to inhabit my characters by using them to water down the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The title comes from the fact that Aleyshka, who lives in a world where night is long, is accidentally transported to a world where day and night are half and half, and the sunlight is too bright for her to see anything, but at night she can see everything in her eyes. For me, who sees the world through the characters, they are like a quiet night.
