Statement

The series entitled “Paint Painting” is made of what painters use, color on a dish. Then, I complete the background. This is like an illusion that looks like a photo. This is a realistic and photographic figuration but, at the same time, a minimal, abstraction-like painting. And all this makes reference to myself and might at the same time be referred to as a sample of a pop-color chart. The painting is formed by color’s shape and material.
The motif drawn is an important element as it is often what grasps people’s attention to watch the painting. So in this way we can feel its meaning, story and spirit.
On the other hand, the color of the painting is made by the color itself, and we can see the shapes and outlines of the forms, brush strokes, objects drawn and colors made by the brushes and other painting tools. Abstracts works or figurative ones, we don’t see what has been drawn on the painting. What we really see are the different shapes made by the paint. A red painting is nothing more than red paint being painted on the canvas. A dish drawn so realistically it looks like a photo is nothing more than the result of the different colors applied on the canvas.
