The journey begins at the beginning
One foot in front of the other, memories linger, to the place where one day they will surely sink.
I wonder if the gentle breeze and the rich land will last forever
Will my feet still move when the sharp light at my back overtakes me?
May the last of the last of the journey be peaceful
With hope and resignation
We will watch the sun set, won’t we?
I mutter to myself as I am embraced by the black tufts of fluff.

筒井文那　Fumina Tsutsui
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Polytechnic University.
I create a sad yet warm little story with each piece. In recent years, my grandfather and the dogs and paper birds that lived with him passed away one after another, and I was greatly affected by these events. I have been drawing about life and death for some time, but I have also been thinking more about memory and existence, and this is reflected in my work. My works are a medium to record and preserve the memories of those who lived, the children in my works, and my existence. I would like you to look at the dead end world full of fantasy and goodbyes and feel the pain that blurs deep in your heart.
